Petroglyph is a word that comes from the Greek words, "petros",
for rock and 'glyphen", to carve. Literally, petroglyphs are
rock carvings. The ancient Hawaiians called them ki'i pohaku
or stone images.
The eternal bond of the family was essential in ancient
Hawaiian society. Children and family petroglyphs are very
common and can be found in many petroglyph fields throughout
the Hawaiian Islands.Each
