Modern
Bamboo is a oil (alkyd) painting on
interlocking panels. This piece breaks down into two pieces
ease in shipping. The panels are made from 3/4" mahogany
plywood so they are very stable and rigid.
The artist used a process know as glazing
to build up the colors of each panel. There is a nice cast
shadow effect that is created when the painting is hung on the
wall because of the different panel levels.
The edges are painted gallery wrap style
so the image continues around the edge. This
piece would not be framed as the edges and interlocking panels
make the painting unique. This original
painting was signed by Maui Artist Guy Junker on the front of
the painting and was also signed, dated and titled on the
back. A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany the
painting.
"This bamboo painting has wonderful jewel
like colors because of the glazing process. I wanted to
instill a sense of airiness or lightness with this painting.
Use of the vertical rectangular panels of different sizes, mimics
the structure of the bamboo itself and adds the feeling like you
are peering through a bamboo forest . "
