VERTICAL SURFERS #3
Original Stone Carving by Guy Junker
12" tall x 6" wide
(including bamboo hanger)
$250
Surfing was started by
the Polynesians and was first documented by Captain Cook during
his visit to Hawaii Islands during the 1700's. The first
surfboards were made of solid wood and could weigh over 150
pounds.
The back of the carving features a history of the petroglyph
and a short artist bio. The piece is also signed and dated
by the artist.
"Surfing is part of life here on Maui and I like how these
surfers fit within the flaking of this stone. It seems
almost as if they are carving out a wave as they travel down the
stone."
