Traditionally the Honu or Sea Turtle was a guardian for the ancient Hawaiian family.   Sea turtles are currently an endangered species.  A good spot to see turtles here on Maui is the protected marine preserve at Honolua Bay.

The honu connects us with our past as they are  symbols of longevity and the ultimate navigators who return to the sands of their birth. They are the link between the old and the new and help guide us through our voyage of life.
