The
Japanese calligraphy in this carving roughly translates to
"Peace". Heiwa consists of two characters "Hei" and "Wa".
"Hei" can translate to mean Even or Flat, while "Wa" expresses
harmony. Together the characters represent the idea of even
harmony or peace.
The back of the carving features a translation of the kanji
characters and a short artist bio. The piece is also
signed and dated by the artist. Each piece of stone is
easily removable from the bamboo framework to make shipping and
moving the piece around much easier. It is hung on the
wall with a gallery style picture frame hook (included).
The piece is very simple and easy to hang.
