Stone measure appox. 12" tall x 6" wide

Fishing was a crucial
part of ancient Hawaiian life. Fishermen used the moon to plan
their fishing expeditions and used rituals to ensure good
catches. Hawaiians made fishing line out of olona (a
native shrub) and hooks were made from shell or bone.
The back of the carving features a
history of the petroglyph and a short artist bio. The
piece is also signed and dated by the artist.
"This stone has
beautiful color with bands of translucent white quartzite.
The type of stone is called Golden Ray Chinese Quartzite."
